The Town of Livermore Falls Police Department is accepting applications for the immediate opening for Sergeant and an Officer. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and you need to be able to complete the Law Enforcement Pre-Service Training. Preference will be given to Full Time Criminal Justice Academy Graduates, Maine Law Enforcement Pre-Service Graduates, and military experience.
Applicants that have not been certified as full time Law Enforcement from a basic police academy must meet age requirements as established by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and successfully pass a written test, physical agility test (MCJA standards), background investigation, psychological evaluation, polygraph, and medical examinations.
Competitive Pay, Health Insurance with Eye and Dental plan is offered to the employee along with MPERS 25 yrs. 50% no age retirement. Other benefits include sick time and floating holidays after 6 months of employment. In addition, vacation time and bonus days are given after the first year of employment.
The Livermore Falls Police Department is made up of 6 full time officers and 10 reserves officers. The Town is located at the northern end of Androscoggin County and borders Jay at the southern end of Franklin County. The Town shares a consolidated school system with the Towns of Livermore and Jay. The Livermore Falls Police, and Fire Departments work closely together with the Town of Jay for mutual aid.
