Androscoggin Grange
The Grange (officially known as the Patrons of Husbandry) was organized in Washington, D.C. in 1867. It grew slowly during its early years but arrived in Maine by 1873. The following year, the Maine State Grange was organized in Lewiston. By the end of 1874, there were sixty-four Granges and approximately 2000 members. From the beginning, there was great interest in cooperative activities including offering insurance, advocating railroad and banking regulation, and promoting group purchasing.

Androscoggin Land Trust
The primary mission of the Androscoggin Land Trust is to preserve significant lands in Androscoggin County. One way we do this is through the use of conservation easements.

Androscoggin Registry of Deeds
Public has full access to records such as: recorded land indexes from 1976 to present, images of documents from January 1980 to present, and recorded land plan indexes from 1933 to present.

CoverME.gov is Maine’s Health Insurance Marketplace – the place to go to find an affordable health insurance plan that fits your needs and your budget. Open Enrollment for 2023 CoverME.gov health insurance plans ended January 15, 2023. Create an account, fill out an application, and enroll in quality, affordable coverage!

Division On Addictions
Division On Addictions is an organization that helps vulnerable Maine residents who are addicted to drugs or alcohol locate proper treatment options. Alcoholism and drug addiction are terrible crises affecting all ages in our communities – from teenagers to senior citizens. Finding treatment facilities that are able to understand the underlying causes of the addiction, and that are able to cure an individual so as to prevent any relapse, is often a very hard task. We help those in greatest need to find addiction treatment options that are the best for each individual situation. Our services are 100% free.

Franklin County Grange
The North Jay Grange Store is an historic Grange Hall and store on East Dixfield Road in the village of North Jay in Jay, Maine. It was built in 1895 by North Jay Grange No. 10 to replace its hall on the same site which had burned down earlier that year. Part of the building was later set aside for a Grange store. Closed in 1976, the Grange Store claimed to be the last of its type in the nation. On October 23, 1974, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Keep ME Warm
Keep ME Warm provides emergency heating assistance through a statewide partnership of Maine’s United Ways and Community Action Agencies. Donations are distributed through a formula based on federal HEAP percentages and population, and are used to assist individuals directly, or designated to local organizations that provide emergency fuel assistance, including faith-based programs and nonprofit agencies. Keep ME Warm is the only statewide fuel assistance fundraising effort in the state of Maine. United Way of Southern Maine‘s Facebook page.

Lifeline for ME
​Lifeline for ME, LLC is a mental health and substance use disorder agency for adults founded by a mother and daughter team with many years of experience in these fields. We focus on assisting individuals to become more empowered, more independent, and to be able to recognize their full potential. We will operate from a trauma informed and client centered perspective that utilizes an integrative approach, taking into consideration a number of treatment modalities in order to truly individualize treatment plans and utilizing in office, in the community, and teletherapy options.

The Maine State Housing Authority is an independent authority created by the Maine State Legislature in 1969. At its core, the agency couples the efficiencies of the private financial markets with public purpose goals to provide affordable home ownership and rental housing opportunities for Maine people. They provide assistance with rent, first-time homebuyers, water bills, sewer bills, and more.

Maine Municipal Association
The Maine Municipal Association is a voluntary membership organization of the State’s cities, towns, plantations and organized townships to provide a unified voice for Maine’s municipalities to promote and strengthen local government.

Maine’s Paper and Heritage Museum
To create an exciting interactive museum where visitors can experience life in a paper-making community. The museum will encourage tourism and increase economic activity and showcase our distinctive heritage.

Maine Tax Relief Credits and Programs

Mission at the Eastward
MATE’s Housing Ministry every year helps 70-80 clients in need stay in their homes by doing home repairs they otherwise could not afford. Volunteer work teams from neighbors, businesses, and churches come each summer from nearby and far away and gladly share their time and talents with homeowners to create safe housing! Preble Street
Preble Street is committed to providing safe, affordable, permanent housing and support to chronically homeless men and women in Maine. Our services are based on approaches to homelessness and chronic mental illness that have emerged nationally as key strategies for ending homelessness combined with experience gained at the Preble Street Resource Center. Based on a pioneering Housing First model and a strong partnership between Preble Street and Avesta Housing, the success of our landmark housing programs validates a strategy that can end chronic homelessness in Maine and across the nation.

Sisters In Arms Center
The Sisters in Arms Center is a safe haven for all women veterans. They have transitional housing available for women veterans who have found themselves homeless out of no fault of their own. They provide housing and help for them and their children.

Unclaimed Property
Each and every year, tens of millions of dollars go unclaimed by Maine residents. These financial assets are turned over by thousands of national and local businesses and organizations. The State Treasurer’s office holds these assets, free of charge, until claimed by the owner or heir. Please use this website to search your name, your business, and the name of your friends and family. If you have time, help spread the word about this free service!

Warden’s Report
Check the daily fire danger level across the state. Need a burn permit? Visit Warden’s Report for this free, online service. This is the only way to obtain a burn permit. The Town Office does not issue burn permits.

WIC Nutrition Program
WIC provides complete nutrition care for thousands of Maine families, helping Maine kids to grow up strong and healthy. WIC food benefits are available based on income guidelines and up-to-date nutrition research. This website seeks to serve all Maine families with free nutrition advice, tips for staying healthy, and resources for growing families, including breastfeeding and chestfeeding information and support.

Veterans and their spouses are eligible for free training programs offered by NPower.

To support Veterans in starting a career in tech, NPower’s free program offers:
