The Town of Livermore Falls is governed by a Select Board, who meet on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are held at the Town Office and can be streamed on the local public access TV channel, Mt. Blue TV.
Select Board meetings are open to the public. The meetings allow for short public comments. If you have an item you wish to present to or discuss with the Board, please contact the Town Manager (897-3321) at least two weeks prior to the meeting for your request to be considered by the Select Board for placement on the agenda.
The Town Meeting-Select Board-Manager form of government is the second most common form of local government in Maine. As towns grow in size and the complexity of state and federal laws and regulations increase, many towns (approximately 135) have hired a manager to administer and manage the town government and operations. Under this form of government, the Select Board serves as the town’s executive body and focuses more on issues of policy. They rely on the Town Manager to oversee the daily operations of the municipality. The manager is responsible directly to the Select Board.
